Blazin Hot Trail Ride

I told a friend I would go on a trail ride with him last weekend, but the temperatures have been in the 100's and I was dreading it. Thursday night we loaded up our camping gear and the horses and started on our way. I was amazed at how many people were at this ride. I guess with summer coming to an end, more people wanted to get in one more adventure. The scenery was so neat. It looked like the old western days. Some people had covered wagons and we made a big circle at the campground. Most people slept in their horse trailers or gooseneck trailers. I wanted to sleep on the ground since it was so hot. The first night was fun. We had a big bonfire. We grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and some guys cooked steaks. We had guitars and sang songs and even did some line dancing.

The next morning we got up super early and started on our ride. The trail was beautiful with lots of wildflowers growing against the woods. We came to a place in the trail where it opened up to a great big field. We were able to let the horses go and run through the fields! My friend and I raced from one end to the other. Although it was blazin hot temperature-wise, and the sun was beaming down on us and sweat was pouring, I was having a blast. We didn't get back to the campgrounds til almost 10:00 that night. The showers were crowded so I got my soap and towel and walked down to the little spring that ran behind the trail. The water was cold, but it felt good after a long hot day of riding. I stripped and slid slowly into the water. Oooooh, it was cold! I paddled around and took my bath like they might have in the old western days. Within a few minutes, I heard a noise, felt the water ripple around me and then saw my friend's silhouette beside me. He thought I had the right idea and had come to join my bath. As we made our way out of the water, he laid the oversized towel on the ground and put me on it. I looked up at the stars as I felt his lips touch mine. Within a few minutes, I felt things heat up. We set that trail on fire! This was one blazin hot trail ride I will never forget!!
